Make a date with your house. We pull up to our house day in and day out and I promise you, you rarely look at it. If I had a dollar for every time a client said, “I don’t know what happened, all of a sudden my house was peeling!” I promise you; their house didn’t start peeling overnight, it was happening slowly over time and they just weren’t looking.
Because we don’t “see” we need to make a date with our house to really check it out. If you have wood doors, look at the bottom of the doors. That is usually the first-place breakdown is visible.
Look at your facia boards ends; they will usually show wear there first.
Look at your decks.
The bottom of your door frames (especially the doors that are unprotected).
Look at your windowsills.
Every year take the time in the fall and in the spring. The money it will save you is amazing!!!
